We like to party!
Hot on the heels of our participation inWedding Bells Magazine's 25th Anniversary Party where we provided many of the sweets for the sweet spread on their candy table, we're headed to another party!
May 4th is one of our favourite events of the year: Bon Appetit! This is a charitable event that brings the very best and delectable in Ottawa's gastronomic community together at the Aberdeen Pavillion to raise money for 21 local groups, focused primarily on children and the elderly. The Candy Store is so pleased to be a part of this event for the second year in a row and can't wait to show off all the fantastic treats and special surprises we've got for our beautiful buffet!
In honour of this special event, we have a special guest blogger for the day! Inspired by the theme of this year's candy buffet, Gabriella, a seventh grade student at Summit Alternative School, has penned a fitting tribute to whet your appetite!

Lemon Cordials, Lemon Malt Balls, Lemon everything!
At The Candy Store we officially declare lemon the flavour of the season. What could make you feel like screaming "Spring has sprung!" more than the colour yellow? After all, daisies are yellow, buttercups are yellow and the sun is yellow. Yellow is a happy colour and for that reason we are making our theme of Bon Appetit yellow.
Yellow everything and all different flavours. At The Candy Store, as most of you know, we like to keep things traditional but we are changing things for this event. We are going to have Pina Colada Cordials, Lemon Coconut Macarons, Lemon Coconut Cupcakes, yummy Lemon Meringue Malt Balls and Pastel Yellow Milkies. Dazzle Yellow Almonds add a little pop to the buffet. Lemon Rock Candy and salt water taffy - you guessed it, they are Lemon Salt Water Taffy!
So come see us and come hungry and as Julia Child said, Bon Appetit!
