Imbibing with Candy

New Year's Eve is almost upon us and we know the truth: adults like candy just as much as (and sometimes more than) kids! So in honour of the now-of-age kid inside us all, here are some clever and downright delightful ways that you can incorporate candy into your celebrations with...ahem, alcohol.

Cotton Candy Martini

Ingredients:
2 oz raspberry flavoured vodka
1 oz sweet vermouth
1 tsp grenadine
Splash champagne
Cotton candy

How to:
Chill your martini glass and moisten the rim. Spread the sugar onto a plate and dip
the glass onto it to get an evenly sugared rim.
Place the ice in a cocktail shaker, then pour over the vodka. To this, add a generous
splash of grenadine, and champagne. Shake well for at least a minute.
Place a small piece of cotton candy in the martini glass and strain the mixture over.
Drool.

Thank you to the girls at Dandelions Consignment Boutique for the delicious Cotton Candy Martini recipe! They were actually the inspiration for this post! What better way to ring in the New Year!

Drinks Mixer has a recipe for a drink called Gummy Bear, however, we'd rather try out this infused gummy bear recipe from Instructables.

And while we're on the subject of infusing things, what about tasting the rainbow with Skittles Vodka? Mix That Drink has a clever step-by-step process...and here's a hint: if you want all one flavour of Skittles, we will happily serve that up for you at the store!

Regardless of how you spend your New Year's Eve, we hope it is a sweet one and we encourage you to be safe and responsible!
